Create a happy ending by welcoming animals to your shelter or rescue.

We’re searching for reputable animal shelters/rescues that can find forever homes for Logan County’s unwanted animals, even if it’s only a few times per year.

On any given day, the Logan County pound is filled with unwanted dogs and cats in danger of being euthanized. Our rural area is home to nearly 33,000 people, but that number has declined by over 30 percent since 1980. There just aren’t enough people to support the number of animals.

Logan County is in the heart of America’s Coal Country, and the industry has been hit hard with job losses over the years. Many families struggle to feed their children and keep their homes. Caring for the family pet often falls to the bottom of the list. And pet owners are either unable to afford spaying or neutering or don’t understand its importance.

While The Paws Squad secures limited funding for spay and neuter programs and works to educate the community, right now the best way we can save the animals in the pound is by partnering with shelters/rescues in other cities. Together, we’ve saved over 7,000 dogs and cats since 2013. Sadly, as soon as we send a transport, the pound is full again.
